"I first trained as a Hair and Makeup artist 2003, followed by NVQ2 in Beauty Therapy and NVQ3 in Nail services – it was during this time I discovered my love of art.
I became a freelance makeup artist and travelled the country creating beautiful faces for photo shoots, music videos and TV - I simply loved the visual effect makeup creates and the confidence it can give someone. My previous clients include the likes of Yvette Fielding, Derek Acorah, David Bull, Jason Gardiner, Brian Blessed, Jenny Falconer, Alisha Dixon, Danny Dyer, Gillian Anderson.
When I became a mum I needed to take a different direction - I hated being away from my family for weeks at a time, wanted to grow my family and maintain a happy work life balance. I was always playing around with different types of strip lashes on my makeup clients to create different looks and effects, so in 2009 it became natural to progress into lashes.
I opened a treatment room above a hair salon and began offering a range of services.
I spent several years mastering classic lashes before I moving onto volume, and I continue to learn from other lash artists.
I love trying out new styling, different lashes, curls and new techniques - the lash industry is always evolving.
I now work from a purpose-built home studio and offer training in a range of eye treatments.
Education is so important, and I love taking pictures of my work so I can see the progression over the years. My technique improves every day and there is no better feeling than seeing a client’s happy face when they look in the mirror.
Teaching is so rewarding, I love passing on information and sharing my experiences, making the impossible possible! I enjoy working with people who find lashing difficult, by finding a method that suits them, watch their confidence grow, and see how their work improves.
I had an awful training experience myself and actually gave up for several years as I felt I had no support, lacked in confidence and ultimately had very little knowledge.
Having corrected so many lash sets which have been badly applied and are damaging the client’s lashes, I have become quite frustrated at the standard of teaching from various lash companies.
I’ve joined Eyelash Emporium as they have such a good reputation, and won many awards, especially The Guild of Beauty awards for the past four years. They have the right attitude towards students – they are there to support and guide people forward into their new career, in fact I feel privileged to be part of an award-winning training provider, and I’m looking forward to help others build their career."
